Gaillard should sneak onto the Knicks’ bench. He’d probably play 15-20 minutes and no one would know the difference.

H To The Izza, E To The Boue! Jay-Z Loves Him Some Arsenal

H.O.V.A. may run a musical and clothing empire but his expertise in those areas apparently doesn’t translate to the world of soccer. The Sun has revealed that Jay-Z is an Arsenal fan. In the words of the Guardian Knight in Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, “He chose poorly.”

The Gunners have offered Jay and his lovely wife BEYONCE free VIP hospitality seats whenever they fancy seeing a game at the North London club’s Emirates stadium.

Club bigwigs contacted the rapper after reading in my pages that he is a big Arsenal fan.

… And the Jiggaman said: “I’d like to thank the club for their kind offer.

… He added: “I’m glad Arsenal now know it’s them I support.”

What’s not to like about a team that runs around playing “sexy football” but can’t finish the job? A hip-hop star shouldn’t want to be seen supporting anyone that can’t climax while pouring Cristal on their bitch. How long before Arsenal is sponsored by ExtenZe? Maybe Jay and Arsene Wenger can do a Cialis commercial where they sit in bathubs holding hands.

Note: Perhaps the Roc should look closer to home. Check out this post on Jay-Z and a potential MLS linkup. It’s just an idea but a damn solid one. Take some time and check out Nutmeg Radio. They’re new and have a different take on the beautiful game as well as some solid soccer gear.

What’s Next? The Dogs With Bees In Their Mouth And When They Bark They Shoot Bees At You?

Hilarity ensues when a Panamanian soccer game is interrupted by a swarm of bees. Skip to 1:05 and enjoy!

What you don’t see are the killer whales swarming while drunk chimps exchange meat for sex before rushing in with spears and stones on the flank. They filmed everything. Their first movie may suck but the second will be a rallying cry. Animal revolution is closer than you think.

And As Promised, The Wanking

Say a heartfelt goodbye to BBC presenter Kristian Digby who David Carradine’d himself this weekend. Of course we don’t want to celebrate anyone dying besides Guy Fieri or that girl from the Progressive Insurance ads. Our condolences go out to his family and friends but it’s hard to feel bad for people that go out like Carradine. At least there weren’t any ladyboys involved. Our tribute:

Read on. We assure you that future wanking will be much happier and sooner than you think.

Ladies and gentlemen it’s here! The countdown is on and we are about to cross the psychological number of 100 days left to go. FIFA Soccer World Cup has become the most awaited sports event in recent history not just because of its magnitude but because it comes to the world’s most colourful continent – Africa!

While the Western media still doubts South Africa’s capability to hold the tournament and always throwing jibes at the continent, the South African authorities are ready to make a buzz of this as 2nd March counts exactly 100 days to the start of this magnanimous event.

What should South Africa do to convince the world that it is ready?:

I have had to ask myself, what else will South Africa do to convince the world that it is not only ready, but capable of hosting and hosting well, the World Cup?

He continues:

The countdown, therefore, has nothing to do with the readiness of the teams, rather it tends to sensitise us to the greatest single sport spectacle on earth. And in this wise, the South Africans can be assured of my vote. The South Africans have so woven life round the World Cup that long after the competition had gone, (just one month) the legacy that will be left behind will be awesome.

The BlaBla Blog puts it into perspective (albeit more practical) by focusing on the ‘fly the flag for 2010 in South Africa event which is a celebration of this important milestone,

2 March is therefore earmarked as a day on which South Africans, here and abroad, are called upon to demonstrate their excitement for the tournament and to display their passion for the country and the beautiful game

In an interesting survey from the South African Road Safety blog, the figures show that 85 % of the South Africans believe the country’s ready to host the tournament:

a record high (85%) of South Africans supporting the preparation ahead of the World Cup has surfaced in African Response’s latest 2010 Barometer – measuring perceptions of readiness ahead of the World Cup in around the major metropolitans in South Africa

However, South Africans are cognisant of the fact that there is still work to be done ahead of the World Cup and 61% agree that we need to focus on policing and security if our visitors are to leave our shores having had a good experience in our country

The SouthAfrica WorldCupBlog was more satirical in its post titled – Here come the fat cats of FIFA…:

FIFA President Sepp Blatter joined many other dignitaries for a 100-day countdown bash in Durban. Local Organizing Committee Chief Executive Danny Jordaan will be present along with Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe. Other participating celebrities include Jay Jay Okocha, Roger Milla, Mark Fish, and Hossam Hassan.

It also highlights the issues still grappling the organisers especially on the issue of the infrastructure in particular the stadium(s):

The latest concerns surround the quality of playing surfaces that are available at both the host stadiums and at some of the training bases chosen by the participating teams.”… The fields were boggy and saturated so the English FA contracted Richard Hayden, from the Sports Turf Research Institute to work on improving their condition. He did such a good job that FIFA signed him up to work on all the problematic pitches around the training camps.

According to Soccerway.com, South Africa is still wooing fans with 100 days remaining:

President Jacob Zuma in his state of the nation address urged locals to buy more tickets and to support the games to honour former president Nelson Mandela, who lobbied to bring the World Cup here. Mandela was central in assisting the country to win the rights to host this great event. We therefore have to make the World Cup a huge success in his honour,” said Zuma. “The infrastructure, security and logistics arrangements are in place to ensure a successful tournament.

“We will deliver a great World Cup,” declares The Times Online blog:

The rising excitement across the nation is palpable and South Africa is about to show the world what Africa is capable of doing. We are a nation with major social challenges, but we will deliver a great World Cup

Finally BushRadio’s blog discusses the events arranged to mark the occasion:

The deputy president will then join a major public celebration at the Durban city hall where a range of festivities will provide a foretaste of the colour and energy of the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament,”
And also,
Marking the day also Bafana Bafana will play host to neighbours Namibia on Wednesday evening, kick-off at 20h30. The hosts go into the International Friendly in good form after 6-2 and 3-0 wins over Swaziland and Zimbabwe respectively.

FC Bayern is the name of one of the largest professional soccer clubs in Europe. The club happens to be located in Munich, Bavaria and is a club that plays in Germany. FC Bayern is also one of the most successful teams in the German Bundesliga, the premier league for soccer in Germany. Believe it or not, the club was started by only ten or twenty football players back in the year of 1900. The club has had its fair share of modern day victories, but they also had some significant accomplishments in the early years of the club.

One of FC Bayerns most notable accomplishments was in 1932 when the small European soccer club managed to win a national championship. However, FC Bayerns most successful period was not during the 1930's. This German soccer club managed to have the most success during the 1970's. In fact, during the 1970's this German soccer club managed to win the European Cup a total of three times. During this successful campaign FC Bayern was led by Franz Beckenbauer. It's also important to note that this German soccer club managed to win the European cup three times in a row, not just three times within a decade. The years that FC Bayern managed to win the cup were from 1974-1976.

FC Bayern Munich is a club that has played in several different soccer stadiums throughout their history. Before 2006, FC Bayern played all of their home matches in the Olympic Stadium. In fact, this was the stadium that was used for thirty three years of the club's history. In 2006, the club moved to a new and more advanced soccer stadium that was able to hold significantly more people. The name of this new soccer stadium is the Allianz Arena which is the club's current home. The current colors of FC Bayern Munich are white and red, which is portrayed on their jerseys when they play home games at the Allianz Arena.

One of the most notable accomplishments of FC Bayern in recent years was winning the International Cup in 2001. Aside from winning the International Cup, FC Bayern has not managed to win any other international trophies within the last decade. You may be interested to know that FC Bayern is a membership based club. In fact, FC Bayern Munich has over 177,000 members. Either way, FC Bayern Munich is one of the most recognizable clubs in the German Bundesliga as well as European Soccer.

I had a Chow-Chow dog for close to eight years. She was an incredible dog that I loved dearly. Having a Chow-Chow, I took it upon myself to do a little research and learn all that I could about this breed. This article shares with you the information that I learned both in having a Chow-Chow and doing research on the dog breed.

The Chow-Chow is a beautiful and regal dog. When you're looking for man's best friend, the Chow-Chow will live up to the moniker. Chow-Chow's are fiercely loyal to their owners. Having been the owner of a Chow-Chow for sixteen years, I've heard over and over that, “You don't choose your Chow-Chow; your Chow-Chow chooses you”. Should you ever decide to get a Chow-Chow, you'll find it to indeed be true. I've heard tales from people who've gone to pick one out and they would look at dozens of them, but the one that is the best suited will invariably be the one that walks up to you, sits down, and looks deep into your eyes. It can be a little daunting, but at the same time, exhilarating. To have an animal size you up and determine your worth as an owner makes for an unbreakable bond.

Your Chow-Chow will start his life as a cute, little, fuzzy fur-ball. They will grow to be between 45 and 70 pounds, and will be as tall as 17 to 20 inches at the shoulders. They will get big; and with their broad head and diminutive, black muzzle, they will make you think you're looking at a living teddy bear. Aside from their facial features, you can spot a Chow-Chow by their mottled purple and black tongues, and their tails, which curl up to lay over their back. Their coats come in many different solid colors ranging from red, cream, and tan, to black, and a blue-ish color. These coats can be long-haired or short. If you bring one home, make sure that you have enough time to devote to the care of their fur. Chow-Chow's have a double coat. This means that he will have to be brushed on a regular basis, otherwise he'll end up with a lot of unsightly knots and tangles. Your grooming routine will need to be done weekly for the shorter-haired varieties, and as much as daily or at least every other day for the long-haired ones.

Chow-Chow's are believed to have had their beginnings in China. They are said to have been used primarily by the Chinese royalty for the hunting of game. Once the hunts lost their frequency, Chow-Chows were still found in the homes of the wealthy and monasteries. Because of their look and disposition, Chow-Chows made for excellent guard dogs. If you think about it, they do sort of resemble the fabled temple guardians, the Fu Dog. It has been my experience that Chow-Chows seldom bark. Some dogs can sit and bark for hours on end, but when your Chow-Chow lets out a bark, you can almost be certain that there is something that needs your attention.

If you are considering this breed as a family pet, take note. While Chow-Chows make for excellent companions, they may not be for large families or families with small children. They tend to like a quiet, calm environment the best. There are some Chow-Chows who get afraid of even a small thunderstorm; seeking a hiding place if a one is approaching. The Chow-Chow will learn his place within the family hierarchy and, as long as he's treated with love, he will respect that. But you don't want to have a small child around him pulling on his fur, or making a lot of racket. Chow-Chows may not tolerate it for very long. They also may not do well with other dogs or pets. Keep your climate in mind as well. Chow-Chows, because of their double coat, aren't very comfortable in very hot or humid conditions.
